Our Care Team

Meet the folks who make it all happen. We see big potential in every moment, and care deeply about what we do every day.

Sara

Sara

Veterinary Technician

For as long as she can remember, Sara has had a strong passion for working animals. She grew up a big fan of Equine, but after working at a daycare/lodging with dogs, her passion spread out to smaller animals. Today, as a veterinarian technician at Carroll Small Animal Clinic, she gets to live out her dream of helping save the lives of animals every morning she comes into the clinic!

Being a veterinarian technician comes with its challenges, but Sara is up for it. She enjoys the fact that every day is different, so she’s always experiencing something new and fun. She also relishes the ability to work next to an experienced doctor and absorb as much knowledge and information as possible.

Born and raised on a small acreage in the northwestern part of Iowa, Sara grew up with 2 sisters and a brother. She spent a lot of time with them engaging in outdoor activities, whether it was working on the farm or riding around a 4-wheeler.

Today, Sara lives with her husband and their 3 children. In addition to their 2 dogs, Bandit and Bailey, they have a horse, cow, goats, some pigs and even some chickens. In her free time she enjoys being around all of the animals, especially with her horse, Jax.

Paige

Paige

Pet Stylist

A lifelong animal lover, Paige discovered her true calling in 2010 when she was introduced to grooming. Growing up in a home filled with dogs and other beloved pets, working with animals was a natural choice. Over the past 15 years, Paige dedicated herself to mastering the art and science of pet grooming, continually building my expertise in the craft and industry.

After spending several years in North Carolina, Paige is thrilled to bring her pet stylist experience back to her hometown, where she can continue to provide top-notch grooming services that not only enhance the appearance of pets but also contribute to their overall health and well-being. As a professional pet stylist, Paige’s goal is to offer valuable grooming tips to pet owners, ensuring their four-legged friends receive the best care possible and leave with the “purr-fect” look and style.

When she’s not pampering pets, Paige cherishes quality time spent with her son, her family, and her spirited Beagle. She also enjoys working out at the gym and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Paige is excited to meet you and your pet, and hopes to build a long-lasting relationship, contributing to the happiness and “paw-some” style of your furry family member!

Brittany

Brittany

Receptionist

For Brittany, joining Carroll Small Animal Clinic wasn’t just a new job — it was a long-awaited step toward a lifelong calling. In August 2025, she traded her classroom of little ones for a front desk full of furry faces, leaving behind her role as a lead daycare teacher to finally follow her heart. Her late mother always told her she belonged in a place where she could work with animals, and when the opportunity appeared, Brittany knew it was a sign to take the leap.

Her story with animals began decades earlier, when she was just three years old. While helping her mom clean a rental property, she heard faint mews behind a forgotten sofa — four newborn kittens left behind after the tenants moved away. Brittany and her mother bundled the kittens home, warming them on a heating pad and bottle-feeding them through the night. Only three survived, one of them a tiny kitten named Doc who became Brittany’s first best friend. Doc lived a long, happy life, and that moment — saving something small and helpless — lit a spark in her that never faded.

Though shy by nature, Brittany has always had a gift for people. She listens deeply, remembers every pet’s name, and finds joy in the stories clients share about their companions. At the clinic, she’s not just the friendly voice who answers the phone — she’s part of the comforting rhythm that keeps Carroll Small Animal Clinic warm, calm, and welcoming.

Born in Iowa and raised in the North Georgia Mountains, Brittany now shares her life with her husband, eight children, two grandsons, and three mischievous pets: MayMay the seal-sounding Australian Shepherd, Diesel the hopping German Shepherd, and Mira Mouse, the fearless kitten who rules them all. Every day at the clinic reminds her that she’s right where she’s meant to be — honoring her mother’s insights by caring for the animals who bring joy to others.
